I looked out the window today and saw this incredible smoke billowing from my house. It's some sort of exhaust thing and it's normal...don't worry. But I never noticed before that it coats the plants out there in frost and ice. It's beautiful. I went out and took some great tight shots of the plants. But today's "shot of the day" was the photo I took on a whim on my way back inside. I put out a string of orange lights on Halloween night to help trick-or-treaters find my stairs in the dark. They're still there, (the lights, not the trick-or-treaters), peeking through the snow, getting stepped on, apparently, by my kids and the mailman. Sometimes you get the best shots when you least expect them!
