A Dramatic Change

This is what the kitchen looked like this morning....
...and here it is this afternoon! I'm still feeling very enthusiastic about the kitchen remodel, even though we've just lost our ability to boil, bake, or wash up. I'll try not to bore you with EVERY detail as this moves forward...but I will post periodic updates when something exciting happens!

  1. so tell me - what was the matter with the 'old' kitchen? I think it looked great! Better than mine anyway!
Happy Birthday to you - I once again failed as a friend and didn't manage to send you even a greeting (except online) and you have outdone yourself once again! The flowers you sent are BEAUTIFUL and Cate is super excited, she's never received flowers before. I'll post a photo or two maybe tomorrow so you can see what good work you've done. Thank you for making my girl's day so special! C

  2. Hey C, if you look at needs vs. wants, this remodel was definitely a want.
However, we had no seating area in our kitchen (the pictures are deceiving...it is not nearly as spacious as it looks), so to me that's nearly a need. The remodel will provide a peninsula with stools for dining/homework, etc.
The other problem...Paul hates white wood. He wants natural cherry cabinets, so that is what he will have!
I'm so glad Cate enjoyed the flowers. I debated about a bouquet for a nine year old...but was hoping she'd feel grown up! ;D
(I also LOVE that she's going by Cate.)
So glad we can keep in touch this way!
