Concert Night

Here is Calvin getting ready to play his upright bass in the Middle School Concert. His mom kind of embarrassed him by moving to the front row so she could get this shot.

But it's OK. She moved to the back row to get this shot. He's the one on the far right! A great concert, which included the James Bond theme, and Tequila (audience participation required).

Sorry I missed it - looks like a full house! Don't remember you playing "Cool" music.

I would have loved to have heard this. Seriously, Calvin is the coolest middles-schooler EVER!

Words of Wisdom

This poem was found in my 96 year old Grandfather's wallet after he passed in 2008. It was written in 1965 by Walter D. Wintle.

"The Man Who Thinks He Can"

If you think you are beaten, you are,

If you think that you dare not, you don't,

If you'd like to win, but you think you can't

It's almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost.

For out in the world you'll find,

Success begins with a fellow's will,

It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,

You've got to think high to rise,

You've got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go

To the stronger or faster man

But sooner or later the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can.
