Leif Erickson Park & Rose Garden

I planned on taking pictures here at the Rose Garden earlier this summer to feature on the blog, but I never did it. When I saw this boat anchored right in front of the park this afternoon, I decided today was a good time for a photo. The park is beautiful year 'round, but especially in the summer, when you see lots of bridal parties posing in the park. You can find a little more information about the park and its roses here.

This poem was found in my 96 year old Grandfather's wallet after he passed in 2008. It was written in 1965 by Walter D. Wintle.

"The Man Who Thinks He Can"

If you think you are beaten, you are,

If you think that you dare not, you don't,

If you'd like to win, but you think you can't

It's almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost.

For out in the world you'll find,

Success begins with a fellow's will,
