I spent about 10 minutes this morning trying to capture a leaf as it falls from the tree. I'd love to be able to get it in focus...but have found it's rather difficult to do! This was one of my best shots, because the leaf is vertical. We're wondering why there were very few red leaves in the woods this year. Do the reds fall first, or were there fewer reds because of the cooler summer?
**Update on yesterday's snake-We've identified it as a Western Fox Snake. "Ours" was a baby, and many experts say when they're young, the coloring is more grey/black. As adults, they get more golden in color. All sites I've checked describe it's rattler-like behavior, but they say this is not a venomous snake. Click
here to see more on the snake we found.
I would say you did a nice job capturing the leaf. Around here the reds are usually first. Now our forests are gold and bronze with many leaves already on the ground.
