Blooms at the Bottom

This is the first bloom from my magnolia! You might remember I was concerned about its survival after an ice storm.

Last year this tree bloomed from the bottom up, and it took a very long time to complete the cycle. The bottom branches bloomed, and the petals fell. Then the middle, and so on. I'm not sure if that's what magnolias are supposed to do, but I think I might prefer it to bloom all at once.

Lovely photo - I just love magnolias - they are in full bloom here in Montreal. Breathtaking
