New Creation

This should have been a photo of my kids with Maura & Jeff's kids. We visited them today in St. Paul. The kids haven't seen each other for a couple of years, but managed to pick up right where they left off. The moms had a lovely time having coffee, catching up, and surfing Facebook. (I'm still not ready to go there.) Unfortunately, I didn't pull out the camera. So instead, here's a shot of the new LEGO backhoe Calvin picked up yesterday at MOA.

Mall of America

Of the hundreds of stores at the mall, the LEGO store is still one of the most popular with my boys. A trip to the Twin Cities just isn't complete without a stop here.

Blue

Mason says this is a Blue Catfish. I just thought he was photogenic, looking right at me like that! You can meet "Blue" at Cabela's in Rogers, Minnesota.

Hot Spot

This is where people go when it gets warm in Duluth. The PortLand Malt Shoppe. It's been home to a gas station (it still says Northwestern Oil above the windows), a dress shop, and for the past 20 years, the Malt Shoppe. It's a nice place to sit and eat ice cream while watching the boats go by on Lake Superior.

Bowling Day

Yippee! To celebrate tomorrow being the end of the school year, the third graders spent part of the day at the bowling center (I know better than to call it an alley - I've lived in Wisconsin)!
I had lots to deal with in shooting today: movement, low light, and a point and shoot camera. These photos were the best of the bunch. I refuse to use flash in this type of situation, so I guess I need to read more about how to handle it, but I think the first step would be to bring the better camera. Thanks for looking!

He hooked up to a huge amp and played for all to hear today. Fun!

The Plant Formerly Known As Rumex

It's now called rabbit food (that's my suspicion anyway, but I have no photographic evidence).
This is one of those plants I'd never seen before I found it at the nursery last week. Looks like I may never get to see it fully grown if this keeps up!
